In These Days of Cell Phones, Texting, & Social Media...Can the Nest Ever Truly Be Empty?

Millennials, the group of people born between 1982 and 2000, are also sometimes called the Net Generation because (at least according to some people) they don't remember a time when there was no Internet. As a result of growing up with the Internet and associated devices, millennials are often said to be the most technologically savvy generation to date.

But what was it like for them as they were learning to use this technology?

My daughter was born in 1987, and as she entered college things were happening fast. I was in the perfect position to see not only how many things had changed from my own college days, but how they changed monthly and even weekly for her! I also realized that with today's technology and the constant contact it is able to provide the nest never truly feels empty.

This collection of stories spans her college years through her wedding day four years later. Some of the stories will choke you up a bit, most will make you chuckle. And whether you are a parent or have a parent you'll relate!

Too Short Kennedy Visit

Brittany and Kennedy's visit was only from noon on Friday until about 9 a.m the next day. But we packed a lot into it!!!

The first thing we did was pack a picnic and head out to the lake for a couple hours.

Then we picked blueberries

Next went to our neighborhood social and the pool after that.

Saturday morning we "jammed" - John on the guitar, me on the piano and Kennedy on her toy saxophone. All playing something different!!

And then she was gone!
