Thanksgiving in Charleston

We spent Thanksgiving in Charleston with the kids. Kennedy greets me at the car and we start playing right away! Jackson never stops and really seems to study everything he sees - what it does, how it works, etc.

While he makes a huge mess while playing I got a kick out of him also picking up trash and throwing it away along with millions of legos when it was time to clean up. Pretty good for an 18-month old!

These 2 really love each other!

Above pics were taken at North Charleston Riverfront Park on Thanksgiving morning.

Charleston Through Kennedy's Eyes

John and I got to babysit for Kennedy for 4 days when Brittany and Dan went out of town for their 5th anniversary.

We had so much fun!

We took her to her gymnastics class. Got there right at 11 a.m. and ran her up to the group that looked like her age group (3-5) - but she clung to me and said she wanted to go home.
SO, I took the class with her - all the stretches, all the jumping on the trampoline, the handstands against the wall, etc.

As I was in line with her a little girl in front of me said, “You’re really really old! My grandpa was so old he died!”

Worse! When talking to Brittany later I found out her class was at 10 a.m NOT 11 and if K had been with all her regulars she might have been comfortable enough so I could have sat out with all the other parents and not had my ego hurt by that kid!!!

We also played soccer with her in the yard, colored, danced, went to a Latin Festival and most fun of all; to a Princess Tea -

Spring Visit to Charleston

Back in Charleston and headed to our second (annual) Teddy Bear Picnic with Cocoa the Bear.

One of the booths at the picnic created this princess crown for Kennedy!

One of Kennedy's favorite things to do with us is play hide and seek and chase each other. She gives us a good workout!

John's mom's ashes are in the Citadel's Bell Tower. We stopped to visit after the picnic.

Kennedy helping her daddy plant flowers. Love that he bought her Paws gardening gloves!!

And her mommy bought her a Troll's bike helmet. She loves all things Trolls!

Cherished memories from this visit: How independent she has gotten! From dressing herself or making something work it's "Kennedy do it herself!" and when it's accomplished, "Kennedy did it!"

Teddy Bear Picnic in Charleston

We were lucky enough to be in Charleston for Kennedy's first Teddy Bear picnic. Held in the beautiful Hampton Park, there were hundreds of small children clutching their teddy bears, dancing to live music, having their faces painted and making fun little crafts. We hope to make this an annual event!
